By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.
This individual will be reporting to the Corporate Digital Lead, and in this unique position will work closely with various departments within the Town, specifically focusing on storytelling and creating content.
This role will be hybrid and the candidate must be comfortable working from home and office.
The Social Media Associate is responsible for, but not limited to:
Developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating social media strategies and campaigns
Building stakeholder engagement and understanding context through strategic thinking and environmental scanning
Creating and purchasing ads across Town social channels
Managing issues and monitoring social media for relevant information
Planning and creating social media content and videos
Maintaining a unified voice across different social media channels
Developing and delivering social media optimization and teaching tools for staff
Providing customer service on social media platforms and developing community outreach efforts
Collaborating with the communications team to develop a social media calendar and providing strategic recommendations
Developing and delivering photography and videography services for social and digital platforms
Analyzing key metrics, compiling reports, and adjusting strategy as needed
Other duties as assigned.

As the successful applicant, you must possess:
a University Degree or a College Diploma in communications, journalism or a related discipline;
a minimum of two years of relevant work experience, advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), social media management tools (Meltwater or Sprout Social), HTML, CSS, and experience with iCreate content management system, email marketing software (Constant Contact), WCAG 2.0/2.1 and Google Analytics;
photography experience, in the field and studio settings;
videography experience using various video editing software;
graphic design skills; and
a valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence maintained in good standing.
Salary: $57,694 to $72,072 per annum (Band D)
