Mechanical Serviceperson

Reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities (Mechanical Services), the Mechanical Serviceperson is responsible for mechanical/electrical services within the Community and Marketing Services Department and other Town-owned facilities and parks, including:

  • repairing of mechanical/electrical deficiencies;

  • installing new mechanical/electrical services/equipment;

  • monitoring, assessment and reporting of equipment status;

  • responding to preventative maintenance work orders, including start-ups and shutdowns;

  • maintaining mechanical service activity files and reports using a software tracking system; and,

  • other duties as assigned.

As the successful applicant, you must possess:

  • a minimum Grade 12 education;

  • a Construction/Maintenance Electrician License;

  • a Refrigeration Mechanic’s License, Gas Technician I Certificate and/or an Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate preferred

  • a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience;

  • strong technical, research, analytical and problem solving skills;

  • well-developed interpersonal and public relations skills;

  • the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form in a clear and concise manner;

  • be familiar and proficient with mechanical services software applications;

  • the ability to work independently, at times with minimal supervision, and as part of a team; and

  • a valid criminal record check to work with vulnerable individuals.
