Part-Time Attendant I - Maintenance (Pool)

Reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities (Arenas) and under the direction of the Working Foreman, the PT Attendant I - Maintenance is responsible for general maintenance services, including:

  • monitoring the pool/water maintenance management system;

  • assisting the public as required.

  • responsible for facility set-ups for upcoming bookings/events;

  • cleaning and maintenance of the facilities after bookings/events; and,

  • other duties as may be assigned.

As the successful applicant, you must possess:

  • completion of a minimum Grade 12 education;

  • current certification in Emergency First Aid, C.P.R. “C”, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED);

  • a minimum of one (1) year related experience;

  • a current Certified Pool Operator’s Certificate (CPO);

  • a valid Class “G2” Driver’s Licence maintained in good standing;

  • effective interpersonal and public relations skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and the general public;

  • the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;

  • strong reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues;

  • the ability to work independently and as a member of a team;  

  • excellent conflict resolution skills; and

  • a valid criminal record check to work with vulnerable individuals.

This position is within the CUPE Local 53 Part-Time Bargaining Unit.

Hours: Flex hours, including days, evenings and weekends (maximum of 24 hours per week).
