Reporting to, and under the direction of the Program Manager, Events, Culture and Tourism, the Temporary Part-Time Special Events Assistant is responsible for, but not limited to:
Assisting in the delivery of the Town-led special events and programming (50+), corporate and media events and other corporate projects and initiatives as directed. (Includes following through on all aspects of event plans and event planning cycle including site set-up and tear down.);
Responsible for assisting in the coordination and administration of event-related documents and logistics including vendor paperwork, vendor booking, marketing and promotions, insurance, expenses and procurement;
Provide customer service and communication with vendors, participants, sponsors and key stakeholders including staff, residents, businesses and local community organizations;
Responsible for assisting in the delivery of the Special Event Volunteer program (Includes coordinating volunteers, schedules, logistics and training nights);
Assist in the clean-up and up-keep of event inventory program on behalf of the corporation; and
Other duties as assigned

As the successful applicant, you must possess:
a two (2) year community college diploma or university degree in Marketing and/or Advertising; Event Planning/Management or related discipline;
a minimum of one (1) year of related experience in event planning
valid First Aid and CPR "C" certifications, maintained in good standing;
proficient in a Windows based environment, with a demonstrated intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Word, Excel and Outlook);
a valid unrestricted Ontario Driver’s Licence (minimum Class "G") and maintain in good standing with access to a personal vehicle.
